Teach coping skills

This lesson introduces students to coping skills through a fun and interactive game. Students will engage in a quick-paced activity that encourages them to think about and apply different coping strategies. Step 1

Step 2

Coping Skills Game

  • Distribute the printable coping skills cards to each student.
  • Explain the rules: Students will take turns drawing a card and acting out or explaining the coping skill on the card.
  • Introduce a point system: Students earn points for creativity and correct identification of skills. The student or team with the most points at the end wins a small prize or recognition.
  • Encourage students to think of situations where they might use each skill.
  • Facilitate the game, ensuring all students participate and understand the skills.

Step 3

Discussion

  • Lead a brief discussion on which coping skills students found most useful or interesting.
  • Ask students to share any personal experiences where they used similar skills.

Step 4

Exit Ticket
