Lesson Plan

Cool, Calm, Collected Lesson Plan

Students will learn to recognize their anger levels using an anger thermometer and practice three coping strategies—deep breathing, counting, and positive self-talk—to manage anger in real-life scenarios.

Teaching anger management builds emotional regulation, reduces conflicts, and fosters positive peer interactions and personal well-being for 5th graders.
