Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

Welcome the students and explain that today's lesson is about resolving conflicts. Briefly discuss what conflict means and why it's important to resolve conflicts peacefully. Introduce the concept of role-playing and let them know they'll be acting out different scenarios.

Step 2

Role-Playing Activity

15 mins

Divide students into small groups and give each group a different conflict scenario to act out. Each group will role-play their scenario twice: the first time showing the conflict escalating, and the second time showing a peaceful resolution. Walk around to provide guidance and support to each group. Emphasize the importance of asking for help from teachers or trusted adults when they cannot resolve conflicts on their own.

Step 3

Group Discussion

5 mins

Reconvene as a whole class and discuss the role-playing activity. Ask students to share what strategies were used to resolve conflicts. Use the discussion questions to guide the conversation. Highlight how asking for help can be an effective strategy.

Step 4

Closure and Exit Ticket

5 mins

Summarize the key points of the lesson and emphasize the value of using peaceful strategies to resolve conflicts, especially asking for help when needed. Hand out the exit tickets and ask students to complete them. Collect the exit tickets as they leave.
