Colorful Storytelling

Step 1

Introduction to Storytelling

5 mins

  • Gather the children in a circle.
  • Explain what a story is and how it can be told using pictures and words.
  • Show an example of a simple storybook.

Step 2

Story Planning

5 mins

  • Distribute the Story Planning Worksheet.
  • Guide the children to think about their story: Who is the main character? What happens first, next, and last?
  • Encourage them to use their imagination and think about the colors they want to use.

Step 3

Creating the Storybook

15 mins

  • Hand out the Printable Storybook Cards and colored paper.
  • Instruct the children to draw and color each part of their story on separate cards.
  • Help them write simple sentences to describe each part of the story.
  • Once completed, assist them in stapling the cards together to form a book.

Step 4

Sharing and Reflection

5 mins

  • Invite the children to share their storybooks with the group.
  • Ask them to talk about their favorite part of the story.
  • Reflect on what they learned about storytelling and using colors to express ideas.
