Plan, Do, Reflect on Your Chore

Welcome the student and introduce today’s session. Explain that they will learn to plan, do, and reflect on a household chore in one 30-minute session.

Warm-Up Discussion

  • What chores do you do at home?
  • Why are chores important? (responsibility, helping family, time management)
  • Today’s Objective: Plan, execute, and reflect on one chore.

Ask the student to share which chores they already do at home. Highlight why chores build responsibility and time management. Then state the objective.

Planning Your Chore

  • Choose one household chore to complete
  • Break it into smaller steps
  • Estimate time for each step
  • Set a realistic start and end time

Provide the Chore Planning Worksheet. Guide the student as they choose a chore, break it into steps, estimate time for each, and set start/end times.

Execute Your Plan

  • Start the timer as planned
  • Follow each step in your plan
  • Stay focused and manage your time
  • Ask for help if you get stuck

Hand over a timer or stopwatch. Prompt the student to start and follow their plan. Only intervene if they ask for help or go off-track.

Reflect & Improve

  • What went well?
  • What challenges did you face?
  • How well did you manage your time?
  • What strategy will you try next time?

Give the student the Chore Reflection Prompt Sheet. Use these questions to guide a brief reflection.

Great Work, Chore Champion!

You’ve completed your chore and reflected on how it went. Keep practicing to build your responsibility and time-management skills!

Congratulate the student on completing their chore and reflecting on their performance. Encourage them to keep practicing these skills at home.
