Slide Deck

Welcome to Sensory Relaxation

Let's discover fun ways to help our bodies and minds relax!

Introduce the slide by saying that our bodies and minds can feel better when we do fun relaxing activities. Explain that these slides will show simple ways to help us feel calm and happy.

Breathe Like a Flower

Inhale slowly like you're smelling a pretty flower. Exhale gently like you're blowing out a candle.

Explain deep breathing in simple terms. Show them how to breathe in slowly like smelling a flower and out like blowing out a candle.

Stretch and Relax

Let's reach up to the sky and then touch our toes to feel loose and calm.

Introduce gentle stretching with simple movements. Ask them to reach up high and then down low, feeling their body get loose and relaxed.

Close your eyes and listen to these soft, happy sounds.

Play a short, calm audio clip. Encourage the children to close their eyes, listen carefully, and feel the nice sounds around them.

Let's Relax Together

Remember: slow breathing, gentle stretching, and nice sounds help us feel calm and happy!

Wrap up by reminding the children of the techniques practiced and encourage them to use these simple steps whenever they need to feel calm.

Chill Vibes Only Activity: Design Your Chill Space

Overview

In this fun activity, students will design a space that makes them feel happy and calm. They can show us what colors and things bring a smile to their face!

  • Materials Needed: Paper, crayons, markers, or any coloring tools
  • Time: About 5 minutes
  • Audience: Kindergarten to 2nd Grade

Activity Steps

1. Brainstorming (2 minutes)

  • Ask the students: "What makes you feel calm and happy?"
  • Prompt them with questions:
    • What are your favorite colors?

    • How can you change your room to feel more like your happy place?

Write down some of their ideas on a big piece of paper or board.

2. Designing Your Space (2 minutes)
