Conversation Skills

This lesson focuses on developing basic conversation skills through interactive and engaging activities. Students will participate in a simple game and group activities to practice initiating and responding in conversations. Step 1

Introduction

3 minutes

  • Gather students in a circle.

Step 2

Conversation Game

10 minutes

  • Use the printable conversation cards.
  • Pass a soft ball around the circle.
  • When a student receives the ball, they pick a card and ask the question to a peer.
  • Encourage students to listen and respond to each other.

Step 3

Group Activity

5 minutes

  • Divide students into small groups.
  • Give each group a set of conversation cards.
  • Have students take turns asking and answering questions within their group.
  • Walk around to assist and encourage participation.

Step 4

Closure

2 minutes

  • Reconvene as a whole group.
  • Ask students to share one thing they learned or enjoyed about the activity.
