Who Am I? 🤔

Your journey of self-discovery starts now!

Welcome students. Explain that today we're going on a journey of self-discovery. Ask them to think of one word that describes them best right now.

What Makes You, YOU?

• Everyone is unique and awesome! ✨
• Today, we'll explore what makes you special: your strengths, interests, and how you learn best.

After students share their words, transition to the idea that everyone has unique qualities. Introduce the concept of strengths.

Your Inner Superpowers: Strengths!

• Strengths are things you are good at, or things that come easily to you.
• What are some of your hidden (or not-so-hidden) talents and abilities?
• Think about: What do people ask you for help with? What do you feel proud of?

Explain what strengths are. Give a few simple examples (e.g., 'good at listening,' 'creative,' 'helpful'). Distribute the worksheet and guide them to the strengths section.

What Makes You Tick? Your Interests!

• Interests are things you love to do, think about, or learn about.
• What activities make you lose track of time?
• What topics do you find yourself curious about?
• Think about: Hobbies, school subjects, games, books, art, music.

Move on to interests. Differentiate between strengths and interests (you might be interested in something but not yet strong at it). Encourage them to think broadly.

How Do You Learn Best? 🧠

• Just like people have different strengths and interests, we also learn in different ways!
• Understanding your learning style can help you succeed in school and beyond.

Introduce the idea of learning styles. Emphasize that there's no 'best' learning style, just different ways people take in information.

Visual Learners: See It to Believe It!

• You learn best by seeing things.
• You love pictures, diagrams, maps, and videos.
• Tips: Use highlighters, draw mind maps, watch educational videos.

Introduce Visual learners. Provide simple examples of how visual learners can study effectively. Distribute the 'Learning Style Handout'.

Auditory Learners: Hear It to Learn It!

• You learn best by hearing things.
• You remember what you hear in lectures or discussions.
• Tips: Listen to audiobooks, participate in discussions, read aloud, record yourself.

Introduce Auditory learners. Provide simple examples of how auditory learners can study effectively.

Kinesthetic Learners: Do It to Understand It!

• You learn best by doing things, by being active and hands-on.
• You enjoy experiments, building, moving, and role-playing.
• Tips: Take breaks to move, use flashcards, conduct experiments, act things out.

Introduce Kinesthetic learners. Provide simple examples of how kinesthetic learners can study effectively.

Which Learner Are You?

• Read the Learning Style Handout and see which description fits you best.
• You might be a mix of a few!
• How can knowing this help you with homework or studying?

Encourage students to identify their dominant learning style from the handout and reflect on how it applies to their schoolwork.

Your Personal Superpower! 🚀

• What is one strength, interest, or learning style you will embrace about yourself?
• How will you use this superpower this week?

Conclude the lesson by asking students to think about one 'superpower' they will embrace or one new thing they learned about themselves. Encourage sharing.
