Mindful Breathing Blueprint

Introduce 3rd graders to simple mindfulness breathing to help them notice stress and practice self-soothing, enabling them to “catch” calm and build self-management skills.

Mindful breathing lays the groundwork for emotional regulation by giving students a concrete tool to recognize stress and self-soothe. This supports focus, reduces anxiety, and fosters well-being in and out of the classroom.
