Lesson Plan

Building Verbal Confidence

Encourage gradual verbal communication

This lesson is designed to help a 1st-grade student with selective mutism gradually increase her verbal communication. By starting with nonverbal activities and slowly introducing verbal elements, the student can build confidence in speaking in a supportive environment. This approach is important as it respects the student's pace and comfort level, fostering a positive experience with communication.
