Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

Gather the children in a circle. Briefly introduce the topic of friendship. Ask them what makes a good friend and let a few children share their thoughts.

Step 2

Discussion: Friendship Building

5 mins

Facilitate the 'Friendship Building' discussion using the provided discussion guide. Encourage children to think about and share their ideas on what it means to be a good friend.

Step 3

Activity: Role-Playing Scenarios

10 mins

Distribute the 'Friendship Scenarios' printable cards. Pair the children and have each pair choose a card to act out. The scenarios will show different friendship situations. After 5 minutes of role-playing, bring the group back together and discuss what happened in each scenario.

Step 4

Worksheet: My Friend

7 mins

Hand out the 'My Friend' worksheet. Ask the children to think about one of their friends and fill out the worksheet with information about what makes that person a good friend.

Step 5

Closure

3 mins

Have the children share one thing they learned about being a good friend today. Thank them for their participation and remind them to practice being a good friend every day.
