Behavior Superstars

Grade 3 • 60-minute lesson on positive school behavior

Welcome students and set the purpose: “Today we are going to become Behavior Superstars! We’ll learn the best ways to act in the hallway, cafeteria, and playground.”

Today's Objective

Students will become Behavior Superstars by learning and practicing positive behaviors in the hallway, cafeteria, and playground.

Read the objective aloud and invite a student to restate it in their own words.

Hallway Expectations

• Walk in a straight line quietly
• Keep hands and feet to yourself
• Face forward and use a quiet voice

Display the Hallway Behavior Poster. Review each expectation and ask: “Can someone give me an example of walking quietly?”

Cafeteria Expectations

• Use quiet voices in line and at the table
• Keep food on your tray
• Clean up after yourself

Switch to the Cafeteria Behavior Poster. Ask: “Why do we use quiet voices here?” Invite students to share.

Playground Expectations

• Take turns on equipment
• Use kind words and include others
• Follow adult directions quickly

Show the Playground Behavior Poster. Ask: “What does ‘include others’ look like on the playground?”

Role-Play Practice

• In small groups, act out scenarios from the Role-Play Scenario Cards
• Show the correct behaviors from our posters
• After each role-play, peers name one positive behavior they saw

Explain how to work in groups. Model one scenario with a volunteer before students start.

Reflection

Draw or write one way you’ll be a Behavior Superstar in:
• Hallway
• Cafeteria
• Playground

Hand out the Behavior Reflection Worksheet. Circulate to support students as they draw and write.

Closure: You’re Behavior Superstars!

Great work today! Remember to:
• Use quiet voices in hallways and cafeteria
• Keep hands to yourself
• Be kind and include everyone on the playground

Review examples shared by students. Praise specific behaviors and distribute Reward Stickers. Challenge them to show these behaviors every day.
