Prep

Prepare Materials

10 minutes

  • Print one copy of each student’s Bingo Tracking Card.
  • Load and review the Bingo Board Display slide deck.
  • Gather Bingo Tokens (e.g., chips or stickers).
  • Read through the Winner Celebration Talk script to familiarize yourself with the cool-down.
  • Ensure you have a clipboard or chart to log behaviors for ongoing progress monitoring.

Step 1

Introduction & Rules

2 minutes

  • Display the Bingo Board Display and explain today’s objective: mark classmates’ positive behaviors and aim for a bingo.
  • Review key behaviors listed on the board (e.g., sharing, listening, helping).
  • Explain how to earn a token when they see a peer demonstrating a behavior and mark it on their Bingo Tracking Card.

Step 2

Behavior Bingo Gameplay

15 minutes

  • Distribute tokens and tracking cards to each student.
  • Students circulate or observe peers; when they see a behavior, they place a token on that square and call out the behavior name.
  • Use the Class Behavior Bingo master card to track each call so it’s visible to all.
  • As students mark, record each behavior occurrence on your chart for data: note frequency and which behavior was most common.
  • Continue until a student calls “Bingo!” by marking a full row, column, or diagonal.

Step 3

Cool-down & Celebration

3 minutes

  • Invite the winner(s) to share which behaviors helped them win.
  • Use the Winner Celebration Talk to praise effort and reinforce positive actions.
  • Briefly summarize the behaviors most often marked and set a simple goal for tomorrow based on your data (e.g., "Let’s aim for more helping moments!").

Welcome to Behavior Bingo!

We’re on a mission to notice and reward positive actions.

Let’s have fun and cheer each other on!

Welcome, friends! Today we’re playing Behavior Bingo—a fun way to spot and celebrate each other’s good choices. Use your eyes and ears to watch for classmates doing great behaviors, and get ready to mark your boards!

Rules & How to Win

• Watch for classmates demonstrating behaviors on this board.
• When you see one, call out the behavior and place a token on your card.
• Get four in a row—horizontal, vertical, or diagonal—to shout “Bingo!”

Read through each rule slowly, and pause to ask if anyone has questions. Encourage students to use kind words when calling out behaviors.

Game

Class Behavior Bingo: Game Instructions

Materials Needed

Setup (5 minutes)

  1. Display the master bingo card (Class Behavior Bingo) where everyone can see.
  2. Place a Bingo Tracking Card and a handful of tokens on each student’s desk.
  3. Prepare your Behavior Data Chart Template on a clipboard for easy logging.

Rules

• Watch for classmates demonstrating any behavior listed on the master card.
• When you see a behavior, call out its name clearly (e.g., “Helping!”) and place a token on that square of your Bingo Tracking Card.
• The teacher will mark the same behavior on the master card so everyone can follow along.
• The first student to get four squares in a row—horizontal, vertical, or diagonal—shouts “Bingo!” and wins.

Facilitation Steps

  1. Introduction (1 min)
    • Remind students of the game goal: spot good behavior, call it out, and mark your card.
    • Quickly review the behaviors on the master card.
  2. Gameplay (14 mins)
    • Give the signal to start.
    • As students observe and call behaviors, place tokens on their cards.
    • Each time a behavior is called:
      • Teacher marks the behavior on the master card.
      • Teacher logs the behavior, time, and student name on the Behavior Data Chart Template.
    • Circulate to encourage shy observers and praise specific calls.
    • Continue until a student calls “Bingo!”
  3. Cool-down & Data Review (around 5 mins overlap)
    • Celebrate the winner and ask:
      • “Which behaviors helped you get Bingo?”
      • “What did you notice about your classmates’ actions?”
    • Use your data chart to share the most frequently called behavior.
    • Set a simple goal for the next session (e.g., “Tomorrow, let’s try to notice more helping moments!”).

Data Logging Prompts

  • Which behavior was called most often?
  • How many times did we hear “Sharing”?
  • Which students were called out for “Listening”?
  • Did any behavior need more reminders today?

Use these insights to guide your Tier 1 supports and plan for tomorrow’s growth!

  1. Gather students in a circle or at the front.
“Okay, friends! Let’s come together and give a big round of applause to our Behavior Bingo winner(s)—[Winner Name(s)]!”
  2. Invite the winner(s) to share:
“Can you tell us which positive behaviors you noticed and marked that helped you win today?”
  3. Highlight peer contributions:
“I loved hearing about [behavior examples]. Let’s clap for our classmates who showed those actions!”
  4. Share data insights:
    • “As a class, we called out helping the most today (we heard it X times!).”
    • “Which behavior did we hear the least? How might we see more of that tomorrow?”
  5. Set a simple goal:
“Our goal for tomorrow is to notice more patience—let’s all look for moments when someone waits their turn and call it out!”
  6. Closing cheer:
“Great job today, everyone. Thank you for being such careful observers and supporters of each other. See you tomorrow, Behavior Bingo champions!”
