Lesson Plan

Behavior Bingo Guide

Students will practice and reinforce positive classroom behaviors by playing a custom bingo game, marking squares when observing defined behaviors. By session end, they will identify and demonstrate at least three positive behaviors collaboratively.

Engaging students in a game-based system increases motivation to practice positive behaviors, fosters classroom community, and provides Tier 1 support through positive reinforcement.

Game Objective

By the end of this session, you will:
• Identify at least three positive classroom behaviors
• Mark those behaviors on your bingo card
• Collaborate and celebrate each other’s successes

Highlight the main goal of the game. Tie it back to classroom expectations and the importance of positive reinforcement.

Positive Behaviors to Watch

• Raising your hand before speaking
• Helping a classmate with work
• Following directions promptly
• Showing respect with kind words
• Keeping your desk area organized

Share concrete examples of behaviors students will watch for. You can ask for additional suggestions from the class.

How to Mark Your Card

  1. Listen for me to call a behavior from the Bingo Call List Answer Key.
  2. If you have that behavior on your card, place an “X” over it.
  3. Keep track of your marks—don’t mark more than once for the same behavior.

Explain the mechanics of marking the card. Demonstrate on a sample card if possible.

Winning Criteria

• Bingo: A straight line of five marked squares (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal)
• Full Card: All squares marked (Blackout)
Once you complete a valid pattern, shout “Bingo!” to stop the game.

Clarify how to win. Describe both the quick-win (single line) and full-card options.
