Chill.. Your Academic Anxiety Is Showing

Students will recognize that anxiety can drive disruptive behaviors (e.g., calling out, work avoidance, off-task actions), learn to pause with the catchphrase “Chill… your anxiety is showing,” and practice two coping strategies to regain calm.

Many classroom disruptions reflect hidden anxiety rather than misbehavior. Helping students label these moments and use “Chill… your anxiety is showing” builds self-awareness, reduces interruptions, and supports a more focused, respectful learning environment.
