Step 1

  • Briefly explain the purpose of the exercise: to help them feel calm and focused by imagining they are balloons inflating and deflating.

Step 2

Guided Breathing Exercise

10 minutes

  • Ask students to sit comfortably with their eyes closed or looking down.
  • Instruct them to take a deep breath in through their nose, imagining they are inflating like a balloon.
  • Hold the breath for a moment, feeling full and round.
  • Slowly exhale through the mouth, imagining the balloon gently deflating.
  • Repeat this process for several minutes, encouraging students to focus on the rhythm of their breath.
  • Optional: Play calm music in the background to enhance relaxation.

Step 3

Reflection and Closure

3 minutes

  • Invite students to open their eyes and return to the room.
  • Ask them how they feel after the exercise and if they noticed any changes in their mood or body.
  • Encourage them to use this breathing technique whenever they feel stressed or need to calm down.
