DIY Autumn Wreaths

In this workshop, club leaders will create their own autumn wreaths using a variety of crafting materials. This activity promotes creativity and can be a great way to relax and bond with fellow leaders. Not only will the leaders have a beautiful wreath to take home, but they'll also gain ideas and skills they can share with the youth at the club.

Styrofoam wreath forms, Assorted artificial autumn leaves, Hot glue guns and glue sticks, Ribbons and bows, Scissors, and Decorative items like pine cones, berries, and mini pumpkins

Step 1

Introduction

10 mins

  • Welcome and thank the participants for joining the workshop.
  • Briefly explain the objective of the workshop (creating autumn wreaths).
  • Share some completed wreaths as examples for inspiration.
  • Explain the importance of taking time for creative activities as a form of stress relief and team building.

Step 2

Gather Materials

5 mins

  • Distribute the wreath forms and crafting materials to each participant.
  • Ensure everyone has access to a hot glue gun and scissors.
  • Encourage participants to share materials if needed.

Step 3

Design and Create Wreaths

35 mins

  • Instruct participants to start by arranging their leaves and decorations on the wreath form without gluing anything down.
  • Once they are satisfied with their design, they can start gluing items onto the wreath form.
  • Walk around the room to offer assistance, tips, and encouragement as needed.
  • Encourage participants to personalize their wreaths with ribbons and other decorative items.

Show and Share

  • Invite participants to share their completed wreaths with the group.
  • Allow each participant to explain their design and any special touches they added.
  • Offer positive feedback and praise for each unique creation.
