Step 1

Introduction

Welcome the students and introduce the topic of 'Art from Around the World'.
Briefly discuss the importance of art in different cultures and how it reflects their history and values.
Explain that they will be exploring different art styles and creating their own artwork inspired by these styles.

Step 2

Exploration of Art Styles

15 mins

Present different art styles from various cultures (e.g., Aboriginal dot painting, Japanese ink wash painting, African tribal art, etc.).
Show examples and discuss the unique techniques and materials used in each style.
Encourage students to ask questions and share their thoughts on the different art styles.

Step 3

Art Creation Activity

25 mins

Provide students with art supplies and ask them to choose one of the art styles they learned about to create their own artwork.
Encourage them to be creative and use the techniques and materials discussed.
Walk around the room to offer guidance and support as needed.

Step 4

Reflection and Sharing

Ask students to share their artwork with the class and explain which art style they chose and why.
Facilitate a discussion on what they learned about the different cultures through their art.
