In this lesson, students will be given a variety of art supplies and tasked with creating a unique piece of art based on a given theme. The lesson encourages creativity and self-expression, helping students to explore their artistic abilities and build confidence in their creative skills.

Art supplies (paper, markers, crayons, paint, etc.), Table covers/newspapers (to keep work areas clean), Aprons/smocks (to protect clothing), and Discussion Questions attachment

Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Welcome students and explain the activity for the day: creating a unique piece of art based on a theme.
  • Introduce the theme (e.g., Nature, Dreams, Friendship).
  • Discuss the importance of creativity and self-expression in art.

Step 2

Art Creation

30 mins

  • Distribute the art supplies to the students.
  • Allow students to create their artwork based on the given theme.
  • Circulate around the room, providing encouragement and assistance as needed.

Step 3

Reflection and Discussion

10 mins

  • Once the art creation time is over, ask students to display their artwork.
  • Facilitate a discussion using the provided questions to explore their creative process and the meaning behind their artwork.
  • Encourage students to share positive feedback about each other's work.
