Slide Deck

Are You Listening?

Sometimes our bodies speak to us. They give us little hints about how we feel or what might be happening. Today, we’re going to listen to that voice!

Introduce the concept of internal warning signs in friendly terms. Ask students if they've ever felt like a little voice telling them something is going on inside their body.

Tuning Into Feelings

Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Where in your body do you feel calm? Where might you notice a flutter or a tingle when something's not right? Let’s explore these sensations together!

Explain simple examples of feelings and bodily sensations that might act as warning signals (e.g., stomach flutter, butterflies in the stomach). Encourage students to think about how they experience these sensations.

Mindful Listening

Let’s practice listening to our bodies. Sit quietly, close your eyes, and take a deep breath in... and out. Notice any sensations in your body.

Guide students through a moment of reflection. This slide is meant to be interactive with silent reflection where students can think about their own internal signals.

Wrap-Up

Great job listening! Always remember: your feelings are important and can help you stay safe and cared for.

Summarize the activity. Ask a few students to share if they noticed any feelings or sensations, and reassure them that all experiences are valid.

    • Discuss how paying attention to these internal cues can help them care for their emotions and stay safe.
