Slide Deck

Welcome to the Animal Emotions Parade!

Today, we'll explore how different animals can show emotions. Get ready to act, imagine, and learn about feelings in a fun way!

Introduce the Animal Emotions Parade. Explain that each slide will show an animal linked to a particular emotion which students will mimic during the parade.

Why Animals?

Animals show unique behaviors. Notice how a lion's roar, a dog's tail wag, or a cat’s purr can express excitement, joy, or calmness. How might these relate to our own emotions?

Discuss the link between animal behavior and human emotions. Emphasize how observing an animal's behavior can help us understand and express our feelings.

Animal & Emotion Examples

  • Lion: Brave and Bold
  • Rabbit: Curious and Energetic
  • Turtle: Calm and Thoughtful
  • Monkey: Playful and Joyful

Provide examples for the parade. Ask the students to think about their favorite animal and what emotion it might represent.

Get Ready to Parade!

Choose an animal and think about how it shows its feelings. What kind of movements or sounds will you use? Let's get creative!

Prepare students for the parade. Encourage them to use expressive movements and sounds that best represent the animal and emotion they choose.

Debrief & Reflect

After your parade, let's share:

  • Which animal did you choose and why?
  • How did acting out these behaviors make you feel?
  • What did you learn about linking animal actions to emotions?

Guide the debrief discussion after the parade. Encourage reflective conversation; ask which animal behavior resonated most and why, and how emotions can be understood through actions.
