Step 1

Introduction

10 mins

Begin with a brief discussion about cells and their importance in living organisms.
Show a simple diagram of an animal cell on the projector or smartboard.
Explain the basic parts of an animal cell: nucleus, cytoplasm, cell membrane, etc.

Step 2

Animal Cell Adventure Game

25 mins

Divide students into small groups and explain the rules of the Animal Cell Adventure game.
Each group will receive a game board and pieces representing different cell parts.
Students will take turns drawing cards that describe a function or characteristic of a cell part and must place their piece on the correct part of the cell on the game board.
Encourage students to discuss and help each other in their groups, using both English and Spanish as needed.
