Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

Begin by explaining the importance of recognizing and managing anger. Discuss how unmanaged anger can affect behavior and relationships.

Step 2

Watch Video

6 mins

Show the 'Anger Management Techniques For Kids' video. After the video, briefly discuss the main points, highlighting the concept of the anger thermometer and some of the coping strategies mentioned.

Step 3

Create Anger Thermometers

8 mins

Distribute paper and markers. Guide students in creating their own anger thermometers, helping them visualize different levels of anger and associate each level with specific feelings and physical reactions.

Step 4

Practice Identifying Anger Levels

5 mins

Hand out the scenarios sheet. Have students read through different scenarios and identify where they would place themselves on their anger thermometer for each situation.

Step 5

Discussion

Lead a discussion on the scenarios and the coping strategies that could be used at each anger level. Encourage students to share their thoughts and experiences with using the anger thermometer.
