Introduction

  • Explain that everyone feels angry sometimes and it’s okay, but it’s important to know how to manage it.

  • Play the 'Anger Management Techniques For Kids' video.
  • Encourage students to pay attention to the different techniques presented in the video.

Step 3

Trauma-Informed Discussion

5 mins

  • Lead a gentle discussion about the video.
  • Use prompts like: 'Can anyone share a time when they felt really angry?' or 'What are some things you do to feel better when you're angry?'
  • Emphasize that it's okay to feel anger and that everyone experiences it.

Step 4

Anger Thermometer Creation

5 mins

  • Hand out the Anger Thermometer templates, paper, and crayons/markers.
  • Explain how an anger thermometer works: the bottom represents feeling calm, and the top represents feeling very angry.
  • Students will fill in their thermometers with different levels of anger and things they can do to calm down at each level.

  • Allow students to share their anger thermometers if they are comfortable.
