Game

Anger Volcano Pop

A fast-paced board-game quest to keep anger management fun! Race up the volcano by identifying triggers, practicing calming moves, and avoiding the lava bursts.

Materials

  • Print of the Anger Volcano Pop board (see below)
  • One die or spinner
  • One game piece per player (or a single piece if playing solo)
  • Anger Busters Toolkit

Setup

  1. Place all pieces at Start (the volcano base).
  2. Keep the Anger Busters Toolkit worksheet and a pencil within reach.
  3. Decide turn order.

Game Board Layout (printable)

Draw or print a winding path of 25 spaces ascending the volcano. Mark special spaces with icons:
• 🔥 (Lava Rock) on spaces: 5, 10, 15, 20
• 💧 (Calm Cloud) on spaces: 3, 8, 13, 18
• 🌋 (Eruption) on space 12

(You can draw circles for each space and add the icons as you like.)

How to Play

On your turn:

  1. Roll the die (or spin). Move forward that many spaces.
  2. Check the icon on your new space:
    • 🔥 Lava Rock (Trigger!): Open Anger Busters Toolkit to Part 1. Pick any trigger scenario, rate your anger (1–5), and name one body signal you’d feel.
    • 💧 Calm Cloud (Strategy!): Go to Part 2 on your worksheet. Circle a calming strategy and practice it aloud for 30 seconds.
    • 🌋 Volcano Eruption: The volcano is erupting! Do three deep breaths, then move back two spaces and stay calm.
    • ⬜️ Plain Space: Nothing happens—get ready for your next turn!
  3. End your turn and let the next player go (or roll again if solo).

Winning the Game

Whoever reaches the crater (space 25) first is the Anger Volcano Champion! Give yourself a “Hero Badge” sticker or draw a 🌟 next to your name.

Tips for Success

  • Encourage playful voices or sound effects when erupting!
  • Offer praise: “Great calm breath!” or “Smart trigger spotting!”
  • If the student lands on multiple special spaces in a row, let them handle each before moving on.

Ready to play? Let’s roll and become an Anger Buster Hero!
