## Warm-Up & Introduction (5 minutes)

(Teacher displays Slide Deck - Slide 1: "Am I Your Friend?")

Teacher: "Good morning, everyone! Today, we're going to talk about something super important that makes our classroom a happy place. Look at our first slide! It asks a big question: Am I Your Friend? What do you think that means? What comes to mind when you hear the word friend?"

(Allow 2-3 students to share their initial thoughts. Acknowledge all responses positively.)

Teacher: "Those are wonderful ideas! A friend is someone special, and being a friend is a wonderful thing. Let's explore more about it!"

## Exploring Friendship (10 minutes)

(Teacher displays Slide Deck - Slide 2: "What is a Friend?")

Teacher: "Take a look at this slide. It gives us some ideas about What is a Friend? It says: Someone who plays with you, Someone who helps you, Someone who makes you smile, and Someone who listens. Can anyone think of a time when a friend did one of these things for them?"

(Allow a few students to share brief examples. Use Discussion Prompts if needed to guide the conversation.)

(Teacher displays Slide Deck - Slide 3: "How to Be a Good Friend")

Teacher: "Now that we know what a friend is, how can we be good friends to others? This slide has some great ideas: Share your toys, Use kind words, Take turns, Invite others to play. Why do you think sharing your toys makes you a good friend?"

(Allow a couple of students to respond.)

(Teacher displays Slide Deck - Slide 4: "Show Kindness!")

Teacher: "Being a good friend is all about showing kindness. This slide says we can Help a friend who is sad, Say "please" and "thank you", Give a compliment, and Ask a friend if they need help. Who can tell me a kind thing they did for a friend recently?"

(Listen to student responses. Affirm and praise examples of kindness.)

Teacher: "Remember, being a friend means caring about others and making them feel happy and safe. We want everyone in our classroom to feel like they have friends!"

## Friendship Web Activity (10 minutes)

(Teacher displays Slide Deck - Slide 5: "Our Friendship Web")

Teacher: "Now we're going to make something together that shows how we are all connected by friendship in our classroom! We're going to create a Friendship Web!"

Teacher: "I'm going to give each of you a piece of paper. On your paper, I want you to draw or write one way you can be a good friend to someone in our class. For example, maybe you'll draw yourself sharing a crayon, or helping a friend pick up blocks. Don't worry if it's not perfect, just try your best!"

(Distribute materials for the Friendship Web Activity.)

Teacher: "Once you're done, we will connect all of our papers together to make a big web of friendship! This shows that when we are all good friends, our classroom community becomes strong and happy!"

(Circulate, provide support, and encourage students. Help them write words if needed.)

## Wrap-Up & Reflection (5 minutes)

(Once the Friendship Web is assembled and displayed, Teacher displays Slide Deck - Slide 6: "Be a SUPER Friend!")**

Teacher: "Wow, look at our amazing Friendship Web! Every single one of your ideas makes our classroom a better place. We are all connected!"

Teacher: "Today we learned that a friend is someone special who plays with us, helps us, and makes us smile. And we can be good friends by sharing, using kind words, and showing kindness to everyone."

Teacher: "I have a special Friendship Journal paper for you to take home today. You can draw or write about a friend or a kind thing you did. You can share it with us tomorrow!"
