Bunny Breath Warm-Up: Wiggle Your Nose!
Let's get our bodies ready to learn and feel super! We're going to do something called Bunny Breath.
How to do Bunny Breath:
- Sit up tall like a happy bunny.
- Put your hands up like bunny ears, or wiggle your nose like a bunny sniffing for carrots!
- We're going to take three quick sniffs through our nose, like a little bunny, and then one long slow breath out through our mouth.
- Let's try it together! Sniff, sniff, sniff... and whoosh out slowly! Sniff, sniff, sniff... and whoosh out slowly!
*(Teacher: Demonstrate the three quick sniffs and one long exhale, encouraging students to wiggle their noses or make bunny ears. Repeat 2-3 times.)

Prep
Prepare Materials
5 minutes
- Review the Always There! Slide Deck and ensure all slides are ready.
- Print copies of the Reliability Stars Activity Sheet.
- Gather markers or crayons.
- Have star stickers ready if you plan to use them for the activity.
- Familiarize yourself with the Bunny Breath Warm-Up instructions.

Warm-Up: Bunny Breath

- Lead students through the Bunny Breath Warm-Up exercise.
- Teacher Script: "Let's get our bodies ready to learn and feel calm with some Bunny Breath! Follow along with me."
Step 2
Introduction: What Does 'Always There!' Mean?
2 minutes
- Greet students and introduce the topic of being 'Always There!' or reliable.
- Teacher Script: "Now that our bodies are calm, let's talk about something super important called 'being reliable' or 'Always There!'. It means people can count on you, like when your grown-ups pick you up from school, or when your friend shares a toy like they promised."

Story Time & Discussion: Being Reliable

- Use simple examples or a very short story to illustrate reliability. Ask questions to check for understanding.
- Teacher Script: "Let's think about a time someone was 'Always There!' for you. Maybe your teacher always reads a story after lunch, or your friend always helps you clean up. How does that make you feel when someone does what they say they will do?"

Reliability Stars Activity
5 minutes
- Distribute the Reliability Stars Activity Sheet.
- Have students draw or color examples of being reliable. Provide Star Stickers if available for them to place on reliable actions.
- Teacher Script: "Now, we're going to make our own 'Reliability Stars'! On this paper, draw or color something you do when you are 'Always There!' for someone. Maybe you help put away toys, or you listen when your friend talks. If you have star stickers, you can put them on your reliable actions!"

Wrap-up: Being 'Always There!'

- Briefly review the concept and encourage students to practice being reliable.
- Teacher Script: "Great job everyone! Remember, being 'Always There!' means people can count on you, and that makes everyone feel happy and safe. Let's try to be 'Always There!' for our friends and family every day!"

Introduce the exciting topic of being "Always There!" and reliable. Ask students if they know what it means to count on someone. Explain that being reliable means people can trust you to do what you say they will.

Like a friend who always shares or a teacher who always reads a story!
Give examples of everyday reliability. "When your grown-up says they'll pick you up, they are 'Always There!' When your friend shares a toy like they promised, they are 'Always There!'"

When someone is "Always There!" for you, how does it make you feel?

Engage students with a question. "How does it feel when someone is 'Always There!' for you? Does it make you feel happy, safe, or trusting?"

"Good morning, everyone! Let's get our bodies ready to learn and feel calm today. We're going to do something super fun called Bunny Breath! Can everyone wiggle their nose like a little bunny sniffing for carrots?"
"Now, we're going to take three quick sniffs through our nose, like a little bunny, and then one long slow breath out through our mouth. Ready? Sniff, sniff, sniff... and whoosh out slowly! "It means that people can count on you, just like you can count on your grown-ups to pick you up from school, or like when your friend shares a toy just like they promised. It makes us feel good when people do what they say they will, right?"

"Let's think about a time someone was 'Always There!' for you. Hmm, maybe your teacher always reads a story after lunch, or your friend always helps you clean up the blocks. How does that make you feel when someone does what they say they will do? Does it make you feel happy? Safe? Like you can trust them?"
"Being 'Always There!' means we can trust that person. It means they're dependable. What if your friend said they would play with you, but then they always ran off? Would you feel like they were 'Always There!'? Probably not, right?"
Reliability Stars Activity (5 minutes)
"Now, for a fun activity! We're going to make our very own 'Reliability Stars' using this Reliability Stars Activity Sheet! On this paper, I want you to draw or color something you do when you are 'Always There!' for someone. Maybe you help put away toys, or you listen when your friend talks, or you help your grown-up clean up. Think about how you can be a reliable helper or a reliable friend!"
(Distribute the Reliability Stars Activity Sheet and coloring tools. If you have Star Stickers, tell students they can place them on their reliable actions.)
"If you have some cool star stickers, you can put them on your reliable actions to show how you shine when you are 'Always There!'"
Wrap-up: Being 'Always There!' (2 minutes)
"Wow, these 'Reliability Stars' are amazing! You all have such wonderful ideas about being 'Always There!'. Remember, being 'Always There!' means people can count on you, and that makes everyone feel happy and safe. When you are reliable, you help make our classroom and our homes wonderful places to be! Let's all try to be 'Always There!' for our friends and family every single day! Give yourselves a pat on the back for being such great listeners and thinkers!"
