All About Me Prompts
We’ll work on three parts:
• Strengths
• Hobbies
• Goals
Let’s dive in!
Welcome students! Today we’ll explore three prompts that will help us fill out our “All About Me” profiles. Get everyone’s attention, and explain that these prompts will guide them to share what makes them unique.
Prompt 1: Strengths
What are your top strengths?
• What do you do well?
• What makes you proud?
Write at least two strengths.
Read the slide aloud. Ask two volunteers to share one thing they’re proud of being good at. Encourage students to think broadly (e.g., reading, drawing, helping friends, solving puzzles).
Prompt 2: Hobbies
What are your hobbies?
• What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
• What makes this hobby special to you?
List two hobbies.
Invite students to name a favorite pastime. You can share yours first: “I love playing soccer because…” Ask at least two students to contribute examples and write them on the board.
Prompt 3: Goals
What are your goals?
• What would you like to learn or try?
• How will you know you’ve succeeded?
Write one academic or personal goal.
Explain that goals can be short-term (this week) or long-term (this school year). Give one example, then ask students to brainstorm a goal they’d like to achieve in the next month.
Example Profile
Strengths: I am a fast runner and a good listener.
Hobbies: I love building with blocks and playing the piano.
Goal: I will finish my math homework every day this week.
Model filling in a sample:
Strengths: “I am good at drawing.”
Hobbies: “I enjoy reading adventure books.”
Goal: “I want to read three books this month.”
Talk through why you chose each response.
Let’s Get Started!
- Take your worksheet.
- Fill in each prompt.
- Ask for help if you need it.
You have 15 minutes—go for it!
Distribute the “My Unique Profile” worksheet now. Remind students to refer back to these prompts as they work. Circulate to help with spelling and ideas.

Discussion
Share & Celebrate Circle Discussion Guide
Use this guide to help students share what they’ve learned about themselves and their classmates while building a positive, supportive classroom community.
1. Purpose (1 minute)
- Reinforce self-awareness and celebrate individuality.
- Practice respectful listening and positive feedback.
2. Discussion Norms (1 minute)
- One Voice at a Time: Wait for a talking piece (e.g., a soft ball) before speaking.
- Active Listening: Look at the speaker, nod, and stay quiet while classmates share.
- Positive Comments: Use kind words and applause to encourage classmates.
3. Roles & Time Management (30 seconds)
- Facilitator (Teacher): Keeps time, hands out the talking piece, and prompts students.
- Timekeeper (Student Volunteer): Gives a 1-minute warning and a “time’s up” signal.
- Total discussion time: 5 minutes
4. Opening Prompt (1 minute)
- Teacher: “Let’s celebrate each other! I’ll start by sharing one interesting thing I learned about a friend. Then we’ll pass the talking piece around the circle.”
5. Core Sharing Prompts (3 minutes)
Pass the talking piece; each student shares one of the following (or their own idea):
- Interesting Fact: “Something new I learned about my partner is…”
- Strength Highlight: “A strength I heard my classmate has is…”
- Hobby Spark: “A hobby that sounds fun is…”
- Goal Support: “I will cheer on my friend when they work on their goal by…”
Possible Follow-Up Questions
- “Why did that strength stand out to you?”
- “How might you try that hobby?”
- “What small step can you take to reach your goal?”
6. Closing Celebration (30 seconds)
- Teacher invites the whole group to give a round of applause or thumbs-up.
- Teacher: “Great job, everyone! I’m proud of how you listened and cheered each other on.”
When you’re finished, collect the talking piece and transition back to your seats for the next activity. Remember to use these discussion norms every time we share in a circle!
