Learn ways to say goodbye in Spanish

Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

Begin the lesson by greeting the students and explaining that they will be learning how to say goodbye in Spanish. Share with the class that just like in English, there are many ways to say goodbye in Spanish.

Step 2

Teaching the Phrases

Introduce the phrases 'adiós', 'hasta luego', and 'nos vemos'. Write each phrase on the board and practice saying them together as a class. Explain what each phrase means in English ('goodbye', 'see you later', and 'see you').

Role-Playing Activity

Hand out the Printable Farewell Phrase Cards. Pair the students and ask them to practice saying goodbye to each other using the different phrases. Walk around the room to assist and encourage students during their practice. After a few minutes, switch pairs so students can practice with someone new.
