Acts of Kindness Chain

Promote kindness and community spirit

In this lesson, students will engage in daily acts of kindness and document each act on a paper link. These links will be connected to form a kindness chain, enhancing community spirit and demonstrating the exponential impact of small good deeds. This lesson is important as it encourages empathy, cooperation, and a positive classroom environment.

Step 1

Introduction

Briefly explain the concept of kindness and its importance in our community.
Introduce the activity: creating a kindness chain by documenting acts of kindness.

Step 2

Daily Kindness Activity

10 mins

Each student performs an act of kindness during the day.
At the end of the day, students write their act of kindness on a paper strip.
Encourage students to share their acts with the class if they feel comfortable.

Step 3

Creating the Kindness Chain

3 mins

Collect the paper strips and connect them to form a chain using tape or glue.
Display the growing kindness chain in the classroom as a visual reminder of the impact of kindness.

Step 4

Closure

Reflect on the day's acts of kindness and discuss how it made students feel.
Encourage students to think of new acts of kindness for the next day.
