Activity Preferences Exploration

Talk about activities you like and don't like

This lesson will engage students in discussing their favorite and least favorite activities, and asking their peers about theirs. They will explore the importance of physical activities using a video, and will participate in both individual and group activities to express their preferences.

Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Greet the students and introduce the topic of discussion: activities they like and don't like to do.
  • Briefly explain the objectives and the importance of understanding preferences.
  • Show pictures of different activities to spark students' interest.

Step 2

Video Viewing

5 mins

  • Introduce and show the video Exercise and the Brain.
  • After watching, ask students to reflect on how exercise can impact mental health in addition to physical health.

Step 3

Discussion and Worksheet

10 mins

  • Hand out the worksheet to each student.
  • Give students a few minutes to answer questions individually about their favorite and least favorite activities.
  • Facilitate a group discussion where students can share their answers and discuss why they like or dislike certain activities.

Step 4

Group Activity and Quiz

10 mins

  • Divide the class into small groups and distribute printable cards with different activities written on them. You can also include pictures on these cards to make it more interactive.
  • Each group will discuss and rank the activities from most liked to least liked, and present their reasoning.
  • After the group activity, administer a brief quiz to assess their understanding of the lesson.
