ACCESS Test Good Luck Coloring Posters

Students will be encouraged and feel supported as they prepare for and take the ACCESS test by coloring and decorating multilingual good luck posters.

Providing multilingual encouragement and a creative outlet helps create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, reducing test anxiety and boosting confidence for English Language Learners taking the ACCESS test.

Approach

Create, color, and display motivational posters.

Materials

Multilingual Good Luck Coloring Posters (digital content), Printer and paper, and Art supplies (crayons, markers, colored pencils)

Prep

Prepare Materials

  • Review the generated Good Luck Coloring Posters content.
  • Print copies of the coloring pages, ensuring they are clear and readable for coloring.
  • Gather art supplies such as crayons, markers, and colored pencils.

Step 1

Introduce the Activity

5 minutes

  1. Explain the Purpose: "Class, we have an important test coming up, the ACCESS test. We want to make sure everyone feels confident and supported. Today, we're going to create and color some good luck posters for our classroom."
  2. Introduce Multilingual Support: "Many of you speak different languages at home, and it's important to us that you feel encouraged in all the languages that are important to you. We have some special messages in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole that you can color!"

Step 2

Distribute, Color, and Display Posters

20 minutes

  1. Present the Coloring Pages: "I've prepared some 'Good Luck' messages for you to color in these four languages. We'll be displaying them around the room."
  2. Color and Decorate: "Take your time to color the words and add any drawings or decorations that help you feel positive and ready for the test."
  3. Read Aloud (Optional): "As you color, you can read through the messages. Pay attention to how the messages of encouragement are shared in each language."
  4. Discuss (Optional): "What do these messages mean to you? How do they make you feel?"
  5. Display: "Once your coloring pages are complete, let's find some great spots in the classroom to put them up, so everyone can see them and feel encouraged as the ACCESS test approaches."
