Role Round-Up Plan

Step 1
کرداروں کا تعارف

- ٹیم کے کرداروں کی سلائیڈز دکھائیں اور تین کردار متعارف کروائیں: اسپیکر، بلڈر، ریکارڈر

Say: “Hello, friends! Today we are going to learn about team roles. Each of us will have a special job when we work together to build with blocks. Let’s meet our three roles!” Display three icons: a child talking (Speaker), a child stacking blocks (Builder), and a child drawing (Recorder).
Role: Speaker
Responsibilities:
• Share ideas aloud
• Ask and answer questions
• Use a kind, clear voice
Point to the Speaker icon. Say: “The Speaker uses kind words to share ideas with the team, asks questions, and makes sure everyone understands. Can someone pretend to be the Speaker and tell us one idea about building a tower?”
Role: Builder
Responsibilities:
• Build with blocks according to the plan
• Follow the Speaker’s ideas
• Work safely and carefully
Point to the Builder icon. Say: “The Builder uses the blocks to create what the Speaker describes. Builders listen carefully and work with their hands. Who can show us how they might build a wall?”
Role: Recorder
Responsibilities:
• Sketch or note the design
• Listen to the Speaker’s ideas
• Keep track of changes
Point to the Recorder icon. Say: “The Recorder draws or writes a picture of the team’s design. They listen closely and keep track of what the team wants to build. Who can show me how they might draw a bridge?”

Say: “In just a moment, we’ll divide into teams of three. One friend will be the Speaker, one the Builder, and one the Recorder. We’ll build a tower in two minutes! Ready? Let’s get started!”
Activity
Block Challenge Kit
This kit provides all the hands-on materials needed for the building challenges in Role Round-Up. Use these resources to engage teams of three as they practice Speaker, Builder, and Recorder roles.
Components:
• 20 Wooden Unit Blocks (rectangles and squares)
• 10 Wooden Arch Blocks (curved shapes)
• 10 Wooden Triangle Prisms (roof pieces)
• 30 Foam Connection Blocks (bright colors, interlocking)
• 20 Connector Pegs (plastic pins for linking blocks)
• 3 Mini Whiteboards & Dry-Erase Markers (for Recorders)
• 1 Zip-Up Storage Bag (holds all pieces)
Teacher Instructions:
- Setup (5 minutes)
- Unzip and empty one kit at each building station.
- Place the kit in the center so all three students can reach pieces.
- Keep extra kits on a side cart for rotation or if replacements are needed.
- During the Lesson
- Remind Builders to choose blocks that match the Speaker’s description.
- Encourage Recorders to sketch designs on mini whiteboards before handing blocks to Builders.
- Circulate to support turn-taking and prompt precise language: “Can you describe the next block you want?”
- Cleanup (5 minutes)
- Model sorting pieces back into the bag by shape and color.
- Invite students to help count and return every piece.
- Wipe down whiteboards and store markers inside the bag.
- Variations & Extensions
- Add “Challenge Cards” (e.g., build a bridge with only arch pieces) for older groups.
- Introduce measurement tools (rulers) so Speakers can use comparative vocabulary (taller, shorter).
- For quieter teams, assign an extra “Encourager” role to praise peers.
Use this kit in both the Quick Build Practice and Role Rotation Build phases to ensure consistency and ease of management.
