You Matter

In this 30-minute, one-session lesson for 6th graders, students will learn to recognize warning signs of distress, practice empathetic listening, and identify trusted adults and resources. Teaching suicide prevention at an early age builds resilience, fosters a caring classroom environment, and equips students to support themselves and peers. This Tier 1 lesson engages all students through discussion, activities, and reflection.

Pause Before You Act

This 4-session intervention helps 6th graders develop impulse control skills through guided activities, discussions, and reflection. By practicing ‘stop-and-think’ techniques, emotional awareness, and coping strategies, students will learn to manage impulses in real-life scenarios. Each 30-minute session builds on the last to support positive behavior change in a small-group, Tier 2 setting.
