Slide Deck

Welcome, Worry Warriors!

Let's start our journey together!

Greet students warmly. Introduce the group as the "Worry Warriors" and explain its purpose: to learn about managing worries and building resilience together. Emphasize that this will be a safe and supportive space for everyone.

All About Me Pennant

Time to share what makes you, YOU!

  • Draw or write your favorite things.
  • Include your strengths!
  • What makes you happy?

We'll share them soon!

Explain the "All About Me Pennant" activity. Distribute the pennant templates and art supplies. Encourage creativity and sharing. Model filling out your own pennant if time allows.

Share Your Story!

It's time to introduce ourselves and our awesome pennants!

Listen respectfully as others share.

Ask students to share their pennants one by one. Encourage active listening and positive comments from classmates. Facilitate brief, positive interactions.

Our Group Norms

To make our group a super safe space, what rules should we all agree on?

Let's brainstorm together!

Introduce the idea of group norms. Ask students: "What rules or agreements do we need to make sure everyone feels safe, respected, and heard in our Worry Warriors group?" Write their suggestions on chart paper. Guide them to focus on positive actions and mutual respect. Aim for 3-5 clear norms.

Worry Warriors Group Cheer!

Let's create a special cheer that shows our strength and teamwork!

What words and actions make us feel brave and connected?

Transition to team building. Explain that a group cheer helps build unity and energy. Ask students for ideas for movements and words that represent courage, strength, and overcoming worries. Guide them to create a short, impactful cheer that can be repeated. Write down the agreed-upon cheer on the poster.

Practice Our Power Cheer!

Now, let's practice our amazing cheer together!

Feel the power of our team!

Lead the students in practicing the cheer several times. Encourage enthusiasm and participation. End with a positive affirmation about their readiness to face worries as a team.

You Are Worry Warriors!

We've built a great foundation today!

Remember our norms and our cheer. You are now officially a part of the Worry Warriors team!

Review the group norms briefly. Thank students for their participation and enthusiasm. Reiterate that they are now part of the Worry Warriors team and that you look forward to their next session. Use the Cool Down Activity as an exit ticket.
