What's Your Superpower Career Quest?

Discovering Your Unique Talents for Your Future!

Welcome students and introduce the exciting topic of the day. Explain that everyone has unique strengths, like superpowers, that can help them find a great career.

Your Inner Superpowers

What makes you, YOU?

Everyone has special talents, skills, and interests. These are your unique 'superpowers'!

They can be anything from being a great listener, a problem-solver, super creative, or a master organizer.

Ask students to share what they think a 'superpower' is and then transition to thinking about personal strengths. Emphasize that superpowers aren't just about flying or invisibility; they're about what makes us special.

Superpowers Meet Careers

Your superpowers aren't just for fun—they can help you find a job you love!

  • Love to help others? Maybe a teacher, doctor, or counselor!
  • Are you a master builder? An architect or engineer could be your path!
  • Super creative? An artist, writer, or designer awaits!

Introduce the idea that these personal superpowers can lead to fulfilling careers. Give a few simple examples like 'creative superpower' leading to an artist or designer.

Your Career Quest Begins!

Today, we're going on a quest to uncover YOUR unique superpowers and see how they can connect to different career paths.

There are no right or wrong answers, just honest self-discovery!

Explain the purpose of the upcoming activity: to identify their strengths and link them to potential careers. Explain that this is an exploration, not a final decision.

Activity: Interest Inventory & Superpower Match

You will receive an Interest Inventory & Superpower Match worksheet.

  1. Part 1: Inventory - Rate your interest in different activities.
  2. Part 2: Identify Superpowers - Based on your interests, list your top 3 'superpowers' (strengths).
  3. Part 3: Career Match - Match your superpowers to potential career areas.

Introduce the "Interest Inventory & Superpower Match" activity. Explain how students will complete the inventory and then match their identified strengths to career clusters.

Reflect & Imagine: My Future Self

After the activity, you'll use a journal to reflect on your discoveries.

  • What superpowers did you uncover?
  • What career paths seem interesting?
  • How might your future self use these superpowers?

Explain the journal activity and how it ties into future self-reflection. Encourage them to think big!

Your Superpower Journey Continues!

Remember, your unique strengths and interests are powerful tools for your future.

Keep exploring, keep learning, and keep developing your superpowers.

Your dream career is out there, waiting for you to discover it!

Summarize the key takeaways: self-awareness is key for career exploration. Encourage students to keep exploring and developing their 'superpowers.'
