Script
Teacher Script: Teamwork Makes Dreamwork!
Introduction (Slide 1: What Does Sharing Mean?)
"Good morning, everyone! Today, we're going to talk about something super important that helps us all be good friends and great learners. We're going to talk about sharing and working together!"
"Look at our first slide. What do you see? What do you think sharing means? Take a moment to think about it. You can turn and tell a friend next to you what you think sharing means."
"Great ideas! Sharing means letting others use things you have, or giving them a turn. Can anyone give me an example of when you share? Maybe at home, or here at school?"
"Wonderful examples! Sharing makes everyone feel happy and included, right?"
Story Time: Sharing is Caring (Slide 2: Story Time: Sharing is Caring)
"Now, I have a special story for us today about some friends who are learning about sharing and working together. Listen very carefully to see what happens and how the friends feel."
"I'm going to read our Small Group Story. Pay attention to how the characters in the story share, or if they don't share, and how that makes everyone feel."
(Read the Small Group Story aloud, pausing at key moments to ask questions like:)
- "How do you think [character name] feels right now? Why?"
- "What could [character name] do to share?"
- "What happens when they don't share?"
- "How does it feel when everyone shares and works together?"
"What did you learn from our story? How did sharing help the friends?"
Building Together Activity (Slide 3: Let's Build Together!)
"That was a great story! Now it's your turn to practice sharing and working together. We are going to do a building activity!"
"I am going to put you into small groups. Each group will get a pile of blocks. Your job is to work together to build one big structure with all the blocks. You need to share the blocks and talk about what you want to build as a team."
"Remember, listen to your friends, share the blocks, and help each other build something amazing!"
(Divide students into groups. Distribute blocks. Circulate and observe, offering prompts and positive reinforcement.)
- "How are you sharing those red blocks, [student name]?"
- "What a great idea, [student name]! How can your group use that idea?"
- "Everyone is working so well together! You are being great teammates!"
Sharing Stars Reflection (Slide 4: Sharing Stars Reflection)
"Alright, builders! Let's bring it back together. Great job working in your groups! I saw so many of you sharing blocks and talking to your friends about what to build."
"Now, we're going to do a quick reflection on our activity. I have a Sharing Stars Activity Sheet for everyone. On this star, I want you to draw a picture or write one way you shared or worked together during our building time."
(Distribute Sharing Stars Activity Sheet and crayons/markers.)
"When you're done, we'll share a few of our stars with the class."
(After students complete their sheets, invite a few to share their work and describe how they shared or worked together.)
"You all did such a fantastic job today learning about and practicing sharing and working together. Give yourselves a pat on the back! Remember, teamwork makes the dream work!"
