Step 1
Warm-Up: What's Your Best Work Trait?
10 minutes
- Begin with the What's Your Best Work Trait warm-up activity.
- Have students reflect individually for 2 minutes, then share their traits with a partner or small group for 3 minutes.
- Facilitate a brief whole-class share-out, asking a few students to share their trait and why it's important (5 minutes).

Introduction to Soft Skills: Unlock Your Soft Skills Power
15 minutes
- Present the Unlock Your Soft Skills Power slide deck.
- Go through slides explaining what soft skills are and why they are important in the workplace.
- Encourage student participation by asking questions and providing simple, relatable examples for each skill.
- Emphasize the connection between soft skills and everyday life experiences.
Step 3
Activity: Workplace Scenarios Debate
20 minutes
- Introduce the Workplace Scenarios Debate activity.
- Divide students into small groups (3-4 students per group).
- Assign each group a scenario from the discussion material.
- Instruct groups to discuss the scenario and prepare a brief 'solution' or 'best approach' using their understanding of soft skills.
- Have each group present their scenario and solution to the class, fostering a brief debate or Q&A after each presentation.
Step 4
Wrap-Up: Reflecting on Soft Skills
10 minutes
- Lead a whole-class discussion, asking students to reflect on what they learned.
- Prompt questions like: 'Which soft skill do you think is most challenging to develop?' or 'How can you practice these skills in school or at home?'
- Reiterate the importance of soft skills as a 'secret weapon' for future success.

What Are Soft Skills?

- Identify the problem: What needs fixing?
- Brainstorm ideas: How can we fix it?
- Choose the best solution: Pick the plan that works.
- Try it out! See if it works.
Introduce Problem-Solving. Ask students to think about small problems they solved today (e.g., finding a lost item, figuring out a tough homework question).

- Develop a plan or a recommended approach to handle the situation, focusing on how you would use your soft skills.
