Work on learning social skills

This lesson focuses on helping kindergarten students with autism develop essential social skills through a fun and interactive activity. Step 1

  • Introduce the stuffed animals or puppets as new friends who want to learn how to play together.
  • Explain that today, we will help our new friends learn how to share, take turns, and talk to each other.

Step 2

Activity: Social Skills Role Play

20 mins

  • Distribute the stuffed animals or puppets to each student.
  • Use the Printable Social Skills Cards to guide the role play.
  • Encourage students to act out scenarios using their puppets, focusing on taking turns, sharing, and using kind words.
  • Provide prompts and support as needed to facilitate interactions.
