Snowflake Celebration of Uniqueness

Celebrate individual uniqueness

In this lesson, students will craft their own unique paper snowflakes, followed by a discussion about how everyone is special and unique, just like each snowflake. This activity promotes self-esteem and appreciation for individual differences. It helps young students understand and value diversity, fostering a positive self-image and respect for others.

Step 1

Introduction

5 minutes

  • Begin by explaining that just like snowflakes, each person is unique and special.
  • Ask students if they have ever seen a snowflake and what they know about them.
  • Explain that no two snowflakes are alike, just like people.

Step 2

Snowflake Crafting

10 minutes

  • Provide each student with a piece of white paper and scissors.
  • Demonstrate how to fold the paper and cut out shapes to create a snowflake.
  • Encourage students to decorate their snowflakes with crayons or markers.
  • Remind them that their snowflake is unique, just like them.

  • Gather students in a circle to share their snowflakes.
