Step 1

Introduction to Shapes

5 mins

Begin by discussing basic shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle).
Show examples of each shape using printable shape templates.
Ask students to identify objects in the room that match these shapes.

Step 2

Drawing and Cutting Shapes

10 mins

Hand out construction paper, scissors, and markers or crayons.
Instruct students to draw and cut out basic shapes using the printable templates as guides.
Assist students as needed to ensure they are safely using scissors.

Step 3

Shape Transformation Activity

15 mins

Distribute the 'Shape Transformation' worksheet.
Explain that students will use their cut-out shapes to create new objects (e.g., a house from a square and triangle).
Encourage students to be creative and think of different ways to combine shapes.
Allow students to glue their shapes onto a new piece of construction paper to form their objects.
