Activity

Role-Play Cue Cards

These cue cards are designed to help students practice respectful interactions with teachers. Students will be divided into small groups, with each group receiving a card outlining a scenario. They will then have a few minutes to prepare and perform a short skit based on the scenario. After each performance, the class will discuss what respectful behaviors were demonstrated and what could be improved.

Instructions for Students

  1. Form Small Groups: Gather in your assigned small group.

  2. Pick a Card: Each group will receive one cue card detailing a scenario involving teacher interactions.

  3. Plan Your Skit: Discuss as a group how the scenario could be acted out respectfully.

  4. Perform: Present your skit to the class, showcasing your respectful behavior.

  5. Feedback: Listen to feedback from your peers and discuss what respectful actions were shown in the performance.

Example Scenarios on Cue Cards

  • Greeting your teacher in the morning: Imagine entering the class and greeting your teacher politely.

  • Asking for help respectfully: Role-play a situation in which you ask your teacher for clarification on an assignment.

  • Handling a mistake: Act out a scenario where you admit to a mistake in class and apologize respectfully.

By actively participating in these role-play activities, you'll better understand how even small acts of respect can positively impact your relationship with your teachers.

Remember: Respect is shown through simple, kind behaviors, and each of you can contribute to a supportive classroom environment.
