Feelings Fun!

Let's learn about our feelings!

Welcome the children and introduce the topic of feelings. Ask them how they are feeling today and share a feeling of your own.

I Feel Happy!

A happy face is:
😊 Smiling eyes
😁 A big smile

What makes you happy?

Show the 'Happy' emotion card. Ask children to make a happy face. Talk about what makes them happy (e.g., playing, friends, sunshine). Emphasize that it's okay to feel happy and to share that happiness.

I Feel Sad...

A sad face might have:
💧 Tears
frown

What makes you sad? It's okay to talk about it.

Show the 'Sad' emotion card. Ask children to make a sad face. Talk about things that might make them sad (e.g., missing a friend, a broken toy). Reassure them that it's okay to feel sad and to talk to a grown-up when they do.

I Feel Angry!

An angry face might have:
😠 A frown
😡 Tight lips

What makes you angry? Let's take a deep breath!

Show the 'Angry' emotion card. Ask children to make an angry face. Discuss what might make them angry (e.g., someone taking their toy, not getting their way). Teach them healthy ways to deal with anger, like taking a deep breath or counting to three.
