Consider laminating them for durability. - Gather a variety of small manipulatives for students to count, such as unifix cubes, pom-poms, small toys, or buttons. Ensure enough for each number up to 10. - Set up a designated 'Count & Play' center with the Counting Center Cards and manipulatives readily accessible for students. Clearly label the center.
Step 1
Introduction (5 minutes)

Use the Introduction Slides to briefly review counting and introduce the 'Count & Play' center. - Explain the activity: Students will choose a Counting Center Card, identify the number, and then count out the correct number of manipulatives to place on the card. - Model how to use one of the Counting Center Cards with a few manipulatives, demonstrating one-to-one correspondence clearly.
