Clay Creations: Express Yourself!

Build confidence and share responses

In this lesson, students will engage in a creative clay activity designed to build confidence and encourage them to share more in-depth responses. By working collaboratively, students will learn to express themselves and enjoy the process of creation. Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Welcome students and explain the objective of the lesson: to build confidence and express themselves through clay.
  • Briefly discuss how art can be a form of self-expression and a way to share thoughts and feelings.

Step 2

Clay Activity

15 mins

  • Distribute clay to each student and provide any optional tools.
  • Instruct students to create something that represents how they feel about school or a recent experience.
  • Encourage students to think about colors, shapes, and textures that express their feelings.

Step 3

Collaborative Sharing

5 mins

  • Have students pair up and share their creations with each other.
  • Encourage them to explain why they chose their design and what it represents.

Class Discussion

5 mins

  • Bring the class together and invite a few students to share their creations with the whole group.
