Learn about nutrition

In this lesson, students will engage in a game of Jeopardy that focuses on nutrition topics. The goal is to make learning about nutrition fun and interactive while helping students reinforce their knowledge about food groups, vitamins, and healthy eating habits.

Step 1

Introduction

  • Begin by explaining the importance of nutrition and why it's essential to understand food groups, vitamins, and healthy eating habits.
  • Inform students that they will be playing a game of Jeopardy to reinforce these concepts.

Step 2

Jeopardy Game Setup

5 mins

  • Divide students into teams (3-4 teams depending on class size).
  • Explain the Jeopardy game rules and how the game will be played.
  • Display or distribute the Jeopardy game board and questions.

Step 3

Jeopardy Game Play

25 mins

  • Start the Jeopardy game by allowing the first team to choose a category and point value.
  • Read the question for the chosen category and point value.
  • Allow teams to discuss and provide an answer within a set time (e.g., 30 seconds).
  • Award points for correct answers and deduct points for incorrect answers.
  • Continue the game until all questions have been answered or time runs out.
