“Being recognized for this work is both humbling and affirming, as it highlights the privilege I have in serving and supporting students, staff, and families each day. At Crandall ISD, we believe every child deserves to be inspired, encouraged, loved, believed in, and taught more than they were the day before, and I’m grateful to play a role in carrying out that mission. This recognition reflects not just my work, but the shared commitment of our entire community to student well-being.”
Shenise Tett is the Coordinator of School Counseling Services for Crandall ISD, where she leads a K–12 counseling team and has built a districtwide SEL system grounded in both empathy and data. She developed a shared SEL scope and sequence aligned to state and CASEL frameworks, embedding pre/post-assessments and teacher feedback to drive continuous improvement. Shenise also reimagined the district’s clothing closet to prioritize dignity and accessibility, resulting in increased family engagement and support. Her leadership bridges strategy and care—advancing equity, consistency, and sustainability across counseling and SEL services.
