“I’m deeply honored—and admittedly a bit uncomfortable—to receive this award, because the work I do is simply what I love and believe in. In Jesuit education, there’s an Ignatian phrase, cura personalis—‘care of the whole person.’ To me, cura personalis is social work: seeing the whole person and helping our students grow into healthy, grounded young adults who have the knowledge and skills to handle whatever life throws their way. Strengthening their mental health literacy is a vital part of that mission. The true reward comes in those quiet moments—when a student uses a coping skill he learned in advisory during a stressful time, or when a parent reaches out because their son felt safe enough to ask for help—those are the moments we are reminded this work is important, critical even, and it’s making an impact.”
Robyn Bilotta is a licensed clinical social worker at Fairfield Prep, where she’s leading a schoolwide shift toward proactive, trauma-informed mental health supports. She provides direct clinical care, coordinates crisis response, and collaborates across roles to build connected systems of support. Robyn co-created a structured advisory program—featuring “Mindful Mondays” and “Wellness Wednesdays”—and revived the student-led Mental Health Awareness Club as a space for belonging and emotional safety. She’s also fostering a culture of peer referrals and developing a multi-year advisory scope and sequence. Grounded in clinical expertise and compassion, Robyn’s work is transforming how her school community approaches wellness.
