Being recognized for my work in mental health leadership is such an honor! To me, it is a direct reflection of my school corporation’s commitment to supporting our students’ overall well-being. It means that our efforts to create a safe, compassionate, and inclusive environment are making a difference. This recognition is an appreciated reminder that what we do matters and for us to keep prioritizing mental health as an essential part of learning and growth in the school setting.
Jennifer Veach is the Student Interventionist for Charles A. Beard Memorial Schools, where she provides academic, behavioral, and emotional support across all three campuses—filling critical gaps in a district with no elementary counselor. She leads MTSS implementation, delivers character education lessons, and introduced innovative programs like a full-time facility dog and trauma-informed police partnership protocol (“Handle With Care”). Jennifer also coordinates in-school mental health services, parent engagement events, and staff support efforts. Her work exemplifies resourceful, system-level leadership in a rural setting, ensuring students and families receive timely, compassionate support.
